BetaDash: Inside the NomuLabs x Solid Buildathon

At Nomu Labs, we’ve always believed that innovation happens where ideas meet execution. That belief came to life during BetaDash: the first Nomu Labs x Solid Buildathon, an evening where founders, makers, and dreamers came together to build real products, fast. 

With the support of the Ideas & Wine community, we hosted an event designed to show what’s possible when human creativity meets cutting-edge technology. The concept was simple: in just two hours, participants would use Solid, the world’s first AI that builds full-stack, production-grade web applications, to turn ideas into working prototypes, guided by the mentors from Nomu Labs. 

The challenge attracted more than 20 founders and creators, each bringing unique ideas, from marketplace concepts to AI-driven platforms. What made the event special was seeing how quickly those ideas took shape. Solid’s AI generated structured, maintainable code using React, Node.js, and PostgreSQL, allowing participants to build real, functional foundations instead of short-lived demos. 

What makes Solid truly remarkable is its ability to bridge the gap between AI-generated code and real engineering. During the event, participants experienced how the platform translates natural language prompts into clean, modular applications, showing that AI can accelerate development without compromising quality or structure. 

Throughout the sprint, our NomuLabs team provided one-on-one support, helping teams define key features, prioritize MVP scopes, and apply the idea behind our Iterate & Iterate methodology, a framework built to help startups validate ideas rapidly through continuous feedback and iteration. 

When the two-hour sprint came to a close, the room was buzzing with excitement. Many participants had a first version of their product already live, while others left with a clear roadmap for next steps.  

For us, BetaDash was more than a buildathon. It was a live demonstration of what’s possible when AI becomes an enabler of creativity rather than a replacement for it. It proved that with the right tools and guidance, anyone can bring their vision to life. Quickly, effectively, and sustainably. 

The partnership between NomuLabs and Solid marks a new way forward for founders: one where you can go from idea to product faster than ever, without sacrificing quality, scalability, or ownership.
